I have a dear friend of mine that is expecting a little boy and I can't think of a better gift for him and her than my little polk quilt that I am making. I changed my mind about half a dozen times with this quilt. I originally planned on using a Kona Cotton in natural for the 5" squares, but I was just never satisfied with it. Finally, after not looking at it for a few days I got the idea for using denim which was exactly the feel that I wanted. I had a few pairs of old jeans that my husband no longer wore that I cut up into 5" squares. I then selected my cow pokes material and made circles with a 3 1/2 inch diameter. Here is how it will turned out...
Some of the circles may not look centered because they are not sewn on yet.
I also decided that I am going to use some wood grain fabric for the binding...
Isn't that perfect!! I cannot wait to finish it... The backing for the quilt is a John Deere farm scene in flannel and some kelly green in flannel. Stay tuned to see the finished product...
